Description:

SEFLIN seeks a creative and innovative library professional to serve as our Member Services Coordinator. The successful candidate will work to connect staff at SEFLIN’s 40+ member libraries with one another, develop and maintain responsive resource sharing services such as shared electronic resources (including OverDrive, Clould Library, and Koha consortia, among others), work with SEFLIN’s Director of Staff Development on training opportunities including SEFLIN’s annual conference, assist the Executive Director in facilitating SEFLIN’s committees and discussion groups, and work with contracted professionals to maintain SEFLIN’s web, social media, and other marketing presences. 

This position is highly responsible and represents SEFLIN in the community and to member libraries. Interested individuals should display intellectual curiosity, a high degree of professionalism, and a competency to work independently as well as part of groups. 

About SEFLIN:

SEFLIN is a multitype library cooperative (MLC) serving five counties in Southeast Florida: Monroe, Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and Martin. Florida’s MLCs are 501c3 nonprofits, established and funded under State Statute. We also annually apply for and receive grant funding for state-wide ongoing projects such as Florida Library Jobs and Library Staff Continuing Education programs. Additional funding comes from competitive LSTA grants, other grant opportunities, member dues, and fees for services. 

We are an innovative organization with the mission to Connect, Advocate, and Develop libraries and their staff. SEFLIN’s office is located on the campus of Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton and staff work a flexible full-time schedule. Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members, third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. 
  • Define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.  Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.  
  • Communicate and manage project expectations to all parties involved in a timely fashion.  
  • Proactively manage change in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.  
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.  Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.  
  • Plan, track and schedule project timelines, deliverables and milestones using appropriate tools.  
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations.  Determine the frequency and content of status reports, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.  
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project life cycle.  
  • Assist the organization by writing grants to provide funding for new and expanded services.
  • Represent SEFLIN at meetings of professional and civic organizations.
  • Assists with hosting SEFLIN online and in-person events. 
  • Assists with SEFLIN statistics management using the Abila platform.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of marketing plans.
  • Maintains communication with SEFLIN membership and area libraries through email campaigns, social media posts, websites, and SEFLIN’s membership forum. Coordinates contracted professionals to aid in SEFLINs communications as appropriate. 
  • Perform other duties as required.

Exempt, full-time position reporting to the Executive Director

 


Education:

Minimum Experience: 

  • Master’s of Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited program 
  • 2 years of experience in library setting or other relevant setting

Required Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in project management
  • Knowledge of current trends library services
  • Demonstrated skills for innovative thinking and creativity in planning, implementing, and evaluating services 
  • Demonstrated excellence in office productivity computer skills including proficiencies in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience in working with multi-type library consortia and/or experience with developing collaborative services is preferred 
  • Experience promoting library services preferred. 
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written, and oral skills is required
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of teams 

 

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations 

 

Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License or out-of-state equivalent and the ability to obtain a Florida Driver’s License.
