WMU-Cooley Law School
The Reference Librarian will be based at WMU-Cooley’s Tampa Bay campus in Riverview, Florida. The Reference Librarian will assist library users in traditional and electronic research and participate in the faculty liaison program. The Reference Librarian works with students and faculty; and, assists with instructional support and administrative public services tasks. This individual may teach one-credit advanced research courses and contribute to various instructional classes. Some evening and weekend hours will be required.
Successful candidates will possess all or many of the following qualifications and/or skills: Master’s degree in Library Science (MLS), Library Information Science (MLIS) or Juris Doctor (J.D.), a library and law degree preferred; minimum of three to four years of experience in law library public services, law library or law office setting; knowledge of computer, specialized legal, and course management software; knowledge of print and online legal and traditional resources; strong verbal, written, and organizational skills; strong service ethic; strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact positively with individuals from a variety of diverse backgrounds; self-directed; can manage multiple tasks and projects; engage in complex decision making; and, works well in a team environment.
