The University of North Florida, Thomas G. Carpenter Library, located in Jacksonville, Florida is seeking an Associate Dean of the Library for Discovery and Digital Initiatives. This position requires an experienced, knowledgeable, and forward-thinking candidate grounded in the best practices of academic librarianship. The Associate Dean of the Library for Discovery & Digital Initiatives reports directly to the Dean and assists the Dean in carrying out the Library’s mission through managing programs, budgets, and infrastructure and by participating in organizational development and planning. The position has responsibility for day-to-day operations to acquire, process, and maintain scholarly content to make it discoverable. This position is responsible for oversight of the Library’s Special Collections and University Archives and coordinating its practices, processes, and projects with other discovery and digitization initiatives. This position currently manages both library faculty and staff, develops and implements policies, and coordinates statistical reporting. The individual participates in meetings of the University’s Associate Deans and represents the Library and the Dean on campus and to external constituencies. For more information:

Required Education:
-ALA-accredited Masters Degree in Library Science.
-Progressively increasing responsibility with 5+ years of demonstrated experience.
-Academic record commensurate with rank of Associate University Librarian or higher.
