Lee County Library System is offering enthusiastic, community-minded candidates the opportunity to work with a team of Youth Services professionals dedicated to serving young patrons and families. A full-time position is currently available at the Cape Coral-Lee County Public Library.
As a Youth Services Librarian, you will have a positive impact on our community and help guide programming and collections for children at a large, regional library. This position offers an opportunity to develop your leadership skills in a supportive team environment that promotes creativity, kindness and collaboration.
The Youth Services department is a team of four that includes a Senior Librarian, Young Adult Librarian, Youth Services Librarian and Youth Services Associate. The successful candidate is a positive-minded, self-starter who enthusiastically embraces public library service and demonstrates good judgment and a commitment to teamwork.
The Lee County Library System offers a generous compensation package including health and life insurance and retirement benefits with the Florida Retirement System. Salary is commensurate with overall experience and education.
THE ORGANIZATION
The Lee County Library System has 13 branches including six regional libraries, two mid-sized libraries, and five community libraries as well as a Talking Books library. Services include Books By Mail, Telephone Reference and Mobile Outreach. The library has over 1.5 million items available for patrons to use or check out, and circulates over 6 million items per year. Currently, more than 294,000 Lee County residents are registered users.
The Cape Coral-Lee County Public Library is a regional library located in Cape Coral, a rapidly growing city in Lee County. The Youth Services department has spacious seating for families, a separate storytime room, LEGO table, public Internet stations, early literacy and elementary school-aged learning stations, and an interactive touchscreen play table. The library features an outside butterfly garden with bench seating and a trellis with flowering vines. It is a great place for families to enjoy nature.
