Description:

Job Summary

Under general supervision, performs duties requiring mid-level operational skills and knowledge. 

 

Performs specialized technical and/or public/customer service duties at the Circulation/Reserve Desk.  Serves as Chief Public Service Staff member on duty on Friday evenings and weekends.

  • Provides customer service at the Circulation Desk.
  • Serves as weekend lead of the operation of the Circulation Desk on Fridays (closes), Saturdays (opens), and Sundays (opens).
  • Assists patrons at the Circulation Desk with circulation of materials, basic reference and information and other relevant assistance.
  • Assists to recruit, train and supervise OPS and CWS staff.
  • Monitors activities in other areas of the library.
  • Performs other related duties are required or as requested. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
  • Performs specialized operations using the library's integrated library system, and/or a variety of other electronic resources and software packages.

 


Education:

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of related experience.

Desired Qualifications

Basic knowledge of library management system Alma. 
Knowledge of Library of Congress classification system. 
Ability to adapt to changing work conditions/ technologies and variable workloads. A strong public service commitment in working with Library staff and users.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
