The purpose of the class is to provide paraprofessional, customer-oriented library services. The class is responsible for performing advanced bibliographic searches in intra-library loan, acquisition, or circulation functions and/or information services using all available library sources and tools; providing research and/or assistance in public service areas involving extensive public contact in advising patrons in the use and location of physical materials, online and digital resources, public computers, and mobile devices.
Requires a bachelor’s degree or associate degree. Public library experience preferred. Requires customer service experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Requires computer and internet skills, and experience with Microsoft Office®™© applications (i.e.: Microsoft Word®™©, Microsoft Excel®™©, Microsoft Publisher®™ etc.). Requires a valid State of Florida driver license and satisfactory driving record as a condition of initial and continued employment.
