The Part-Time Librarian (Reference) primarily serves the public at the Reference Desk, by phone, and online through Ask-A-Librarian; assists patrons with public computers and printers, print resources, and electronic resources such as e-books and databases; and serves as Librarian-in-Charge in evenings and on weekends.
As part of the Public Services team, the Part-Time Librarian may assist with collection development, programming for youth and adults, special events, and other responsibilities as assigned.
Primarily evening and weekend hours.
MLS from ALA-accredited program. Experience using current information technologies strongly desired, including familiarity with online databases, Internet resources, and downloadable library materials.
Ability to work well with the public and staff, providing courteous and effective service to all members of the community. Proficiency in written and oral communications skills. Ability to work independently and with others in a changing environment.
