Under executive direction from the Leisure Services Department Director, the purpose of the position is to administer all operations of the Library, including budget, personnel, planning, and evaluation. Employee in this classification functions in an executive capacity and is responsible for directing all activities associated with the library/academic cooperative established between the City of Wilton Manors and the other public library institutions. Position is accountable for ensuring technical, electronic, and instructional support services for all levels of Library staff. Work includes exercising control over the development and implementation of the Library budget, personnel policies and procedures, facilities maintenance, and equipment. Performs related work as directed.

Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of training and experience which would provide required knowledge, skills, and abilities are qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
Master’s Degree in Library Science or related field; supplemented by five (5) years progressively knowledgeable and responsible experience in the management of Library educational and informational systems and standard library/learning resource center operations, and budget management; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Seven (7) years of increasingly responsible public library experience, three (3) of which must have been in a managerial capacity.
