The HCES Media Specialist is responsible for preparing area specific curriculum and providing instruction to students, engaging them in the learning process and fostering a positive, respectful relationship with students, parents and school employees. The position is responsible for serving the school as an instructional faculty member and Information Specialist. The Media Specialist works collaboratively with school administration and staff to develop a library program that supports the curriculum; provides instructional leadership for the teaching of literacy skills; develops and maintains a media center collection rich in both print and non‐print materials. This position also manages the media center as a flexible, multi‐task learning environment, especially the school's Maker Space, which encourages and grows creativity and critical thinking skills.

Candidates should have a a Master of Education degree with a library media specialist concentration or a Master of Library and Information Science degree with school library information specialist certification. Level II background check is required.
