This position provides library support for distance and online learning, extended campus, and international study center populations. The Distance Library Services Associate will assist with planning and creation of learning objects and programs related to the reference, research, information literacy, and collection needs of distance students, staff, and faculty, working with the Extended Campus and Distance Services (ECDS) Librarian. Located within the Academic Success and Access (ASA) department, this position will work collaboratively as part of the Research and Learning services team to support student success.
Responsible for the planning and creation library learning objects such as tutorials, videos, modules, and guides. Develops, maintains, updates, and improves library integration in the learning management system including subject-specific library tools. Assists with asynchronous and synchronous instruction for distance and extended campus users. Collaborates with ECDS Librarian for planning and implementation of asynchronous instruction modules.
Performs library research and learning services for students, staff, instructors at FSU international study centers and study abroad programs. Assists ECDS Librarian in diverse library collection projects in collaboration with international campus liaisons. Coordinates with ECDS Librarian to plan and provide training for student workers, instructors and staff as well as faculty transitioning from main campus to study abroad. Explores and aids in development of new areas of library outreach for extended campuses to support the information needs of these populations.
Develops web content to support distance and extended campus populations. Aids ECDS Librarian with coordination of virtual reference service.
Responsible for other Academic Success and Access unit and library promotional activities in order to support FSU Libraries. Provides high-quality customer service to diverse patrons. Performs other duties as assigned.
Directs the development and maintenance of Open Education Resources (OER) at international study centers. In collaboration with the ECDS Librarian, provides outreach and develops web content to support OER alternative textbook grants.
Collaborates with ECDS Librarian on coordinating and implementing assessment projects focused on distance and extended campus library support. Develops and implements assessment techniques to meet the need of these populations. Creates reports and works with ECDS Librarian to utilize data for decisions and planning.
