Job Description:
Monitor library operations and participate in strategic planning for the library and for the library system.
Develop, implement, manage, and evaluate special projects, services, and programs.
Handle employee relation issues.
Attend annual cash management training and assist in all areas of business unit cash and budget management.
Prepare and present activity reports and technical information.
Ensure standards of service that provide prompt and efficient resolution of each inquiry by internal and external customers, delivered with the utmost respect and courtesy.
Keep abreast of developments, new trends, and innovations in libraries.
Provide opportunities for continuing professional development of self and other staff members, especially in acquiring relevant understanding and skills via coaching and performance management.
Train, direct, and supervise volunteers as needed. Encourages volunteers to use individual talents to creatively address tasks.
Manage proactive assessments of fraud awareness, prevention, detection and risk mitigation activities in area of responsibility.
Oversee financial, compliance, operational and performance audits, ensuring appropriate controls are established and implemented.
Work Hours: Sunday – Saturday, 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Scheduled 40 hours per week; please note that work schedules include evenings and weekends.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from an American Library Association accredited institution.
Three (3) years of supervisory experience in a public library.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced professional certifications.
Above average customer service skills, ability to multitask, ability to adapt to various and changing duties as required.
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.
About Everything Else
Starting Pay Range: $55,120.00 - $60,000.00, depending on experience
Position Salary Range: $55,120.00 - $88,192.00
