Under the general supervision of the Departmental Supervisor, or designee. Performs a variety of clerical work involving the circulation and processing of library materials. Responsible for the relative application of library practices in all areas of Library operations in accordance with applicable City codes and Departmental policies. Duties are generally performed independently. Work is reviewed through reports, observations, and obtained results.
Shelve library materials, straighten books and check shelves for accuracy; move materials when necessitated by crowding, empty exterior book drops, and fill items on hold requests list. Staff the circulation desk; assist patrons with the check in and out process. Handles monetary fines transactions and reconciles daily reports. Responds to patron inquiries in person and on the telephone; assist customers in locating different areas of the library as well as requested materials. Check-in of materials returned from other library locations.
Evening and some weekend required. Performs other duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or GED
Valid Florida's Driver's License
Knowledge of Dewey Decimal System shelving or other fiction library materials.
Ability to work with the public is essential.
Ability to utilize independent judgment.
Knowledge of cash handling.
Ability to provide excellent customer service to patrons and fellow staff.
