Plans, provides and supervises the delivery of library services to children, teens, parents and caregivers. Responsible for the administration and effective operations of a section within the Library System. Supervises professional and paraprofessional employees; prepares and presents classes/other activities in person and virtually. Provides collection development, research, readers’ advisory services and outreach to local schools and the community; participates in long-range planning and committee work. Supervision is received from an administrative superior in the form of review of plans and programs, periodic consultations and conferences.

QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree in Library Science (MLS) accredited by the American Library Association (ALA); minimum of one (1) year of professional library experience.
Necessary Special Requirement: Must possess a MLS accredited by the ALA at the time of application.
PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE: Training/supervising personnel for more than one (1) year; in public library research/collection development. Also desirable: Two (2) or more years of professional library experience; bilingual (English/Spanish/Creole).
