Make a difference in the newest library building in Lake County! Located inside one of our many County parks, our friendly team provides library services to the Astor area by helping the community find information, check out new books and movies, and instill a love of reading to everyone who enters the building (and beyond!). Work collaboratively to provide top-notch library services in a brand-new building, plan and perform new programming in the larger space, and help patrons (re) discover the new library in a relaxed and supportive environment.
We’re looking for a candidate who has a strong sense of customer service (always seeking a positive outcome), a focus on collaborative problem-solving, excellent communication skills, and an understanding of how library services bring people together inside and outside the library. Someone who genuinely enjoys working as part of the branch team to provide concierge-level customer service and programming for any age will be an excellent fit for this team.
Performs professional and administrative work in the provision of effective library services to the citizens of Lake County. Is responsible for participating in adult or youth services work and programming, to include reference services, literacy services, collection development and maintenance and/or technical services according to area(s) of assignment.
May be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.
Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Requires a master’s degree in Library Science from a college or university accredited by the American Library Association with two (2) years related experience.
Requires a valid Florida driver's license.
