Collier County is looking for a Librarian at our Headquarters Library.

This librarian position selects library materials and keeps materials current, provides patrons’ service in assigned area, assists in planning, administering, and presenting Library programming. Answers patron in-house and telephone reference inquiries utilizing various information sources. Weeds out collections and assesses collections to determine if current and relevant. Assists in planning, administering, and presenting Library programming, plans age-appropriate programs, writes grants and reports, researches program ideas, creates reading lists for all ages, finds and negotiates engagements with speakers and follows up on programs. Assists in the budgeting process and performs other related duties as required.

 

Education/Qualifications:

Master's degree in Library Science. One (1) year of experience in library work is preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Supervisory library work experience preferred.
