*This position is funded by the Project Archivist Grant, and is for one (1) year certain.*

Under the direction of the Library Director, perform archival collection and management tasks including scanning, organizing, researching and writing metadata for projects identified within the contractual scope of the position.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Communicate with Library Director, staff and volunteers as to ongoing schedule and work flow.
  • Follow the directions of the Library Director, staff and volunteers in all collection work.
  • Safeguard City of Mount Dora assets with best archival practices in handling of photographs, documents, artifacts and ephemera.
  • Enter all weekly hours into Novatime and report them to the Library Administrative Assistant.
  • Use City equipment in adherence with City policies, standard operating procedures and instruction from supervisor(s).
  • Performs related functions as assigned.

Education/Qualifications:
  • High school graduate or GED
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university
  • Experience in an archives, library or museum under the direction of a certified archivist.
  • Graduate degree of M.L.I.S. and Archives Management Certificate preferred.
  • Must have Valid Florida Driver’s License.
  • Complete the required National Incident Management System (NIMS) training within 6 months of completion of probationary period.
