Located in thriving Central Florida, the Seminole County Public Library is a fun, innovative, and award winning library system. The Assistant Branch Manager assists the Regional Branch Manager in providing direct supervision of staff and branch operations. 

The Assistant Branch Manager works as part of a management team to deliver outstanding customer services that connect library customers to information, resources and programs. Supervises, directs, trains, and evaluates the work of professional and non-professional staff.  Teaches information literacy, equipping our customers to successfully negotiate the constantly changing and exponentially growing body of knowledge. Assists the Regional Branch Manager in the preparation of staff schedules, payroll, and reports. Promotes the library in the community with excellent communication and presentation skills, and fosters community partnerships. Supports and may present library programs for youth and adults.


Education:

 

MLS from an ALA accredited program required or combination equivalent

Experience in a public library strongly preferred

Strong public service orientation and skills

Ability to prioritize and focus in a busy environment

Knowledge of children's, young adult and adult literature
