The Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach welcomes to our team a dynamic and enthusiastic Library Supervisor for our service-oriented Technical Services department. The Technical Services Supervisor will have an expert knowledge of library integrated library systems (currently the library uses Innovative Interfaces), and oversee all department activities, including purchasing, licensing, cataloging of materials in all formats, and physical processing of materials. This position also manages the workflow for the acquisitions process.
The Technical Services Supervisor will work closely with the Circulation and Technical Services Manager to provide leadership and vision for the department including developing and implementing creative approaches to the work of the department.
The Mandel Public Library is located in the city of West Palm Beach, Florida. Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Library Science (MLS) from an ALA accredited program of study and three (3) years of experience working as a Librarian to include one (1) year managing a library program, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
A valid Florida driver’s license is required. For application purposes, a valid driver’s license from any state (equivalent to a State of Florida Class E) may be utilized; with the ability to obtain the State of Florida driver’s license within thirty (30) days from date of employment.
The selection process for this position may consist of any, all or a combination of the following tests: evaluation of training and experience, written examination, structured oral interview or other assessment method.
