The Youth Services Librarian at the Seminole County Public Library enriches the library experience for our customers by providing early literacy story programs and outstanding customer service. The Youth Services Librarian works to engage children and teens with fun, inactive programming. Promotes early literacy based on Every Child Ready to Read, as the early literacy focus. Plans and presents the summer reading program and other special events. Participates in the planning and presentation of system-wide youth services, and provides school and community outreach. Selects library materials for the juvenile and teen areas at the Central Branch. Provides reference and reader's advisory service. Present preschool story time and school age program weekly, monthly plans and present teen programs at the Central Branch.
An ALA accredited Master's Degree in Library Science with emphasis in Youth Services , or active, current enrollment in an accredited MLS program.
