The Seminole County Public Library has an immediate opening for an innovative and enthusiastic Youth Services Librarian. This is an opportunity to promote early literacy, grow readers, and to make a difference to our community.
The Youth Services Librarian plans and presents early literacy preschool story programs, school age Explorer Clubs, programs and events for tween and teens. The Youth Services Librarian works to engage children and teens with fun, inactive programming. Promotes early literacy based on Every Child Ready to Read, as the early literacy focus. Plans and presents the summer reading program and other special events. Participates in the planning and presentation of system-wide youth services, and provides school and community outreach. Selects library materials for the juvenile and teen areas at the Central Branch. Provides reference and reader's advisory service. Present preschool story time and school age program weekly, monthly plans and present teen programs at the Central Branch.
An ALA accredited Master's Degree in Library Science with emphasis in Youth Services , or active, current enrollment in an accredited MLS program.
