Responsible administrative work involving a broad range of public library functions. Ability in oral and written communications. Prepares releases, bulletins and other public relationship materials to promote library services. Prepares statistical and narrative reports of some complexity for Director. Reports achievement of goals to Director and fosters collaborative relationships within the Library.
Reports to the Library Director. Receives oral or written direction from the Library Director. Assists Library Director in the management, supervision, and administration of the library to provide maximum services to library patrons in accordance with library policy and works closely with the Director and will receive guidance regarding policies and procedures and vision from the Library Director.
Ability to administer the activities of a public library and to supervise the work of others.
Performs and supervises library functions; plans and supervises in-service training for staff; fills in at public service needs as required; supervises the use of the community rooms and other library facilities; keeps abreast of developments in the field of science; troubleshoots challenges to maintenance, policies and practices to keep the library current and responsive to community needs.
Aids the Library Director in providing vision and leadership to the strategic planning and implementation process; determines service priorities including facilities, staffing, technology and programs.
Enthusiastic, visionary and community-minded leader who places libraries as a high priority and stands ready to be the face of the library at all times.
Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of public library functions.
