Responsible for assisting and answering patrons' questions. Makes recommendations for pleasure reading based on knowledge of juvenile materials. Provides assistance in the use of the internet, computer databases and word processors. Shelves and orders Library's collection. Engages patrons in the use of library services; creates promotional materials; maintains calendar; teaches classes as needed; educates public in the use of technology; and creates multi-media presentations.
Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of library or equivalent experience. Masters in Library Science (MLS) preferred.
Demonstrated professional knowledge of children's reading and basic knowledge of word processing, internet and databases.
Exceptional customer service skills, mature discretion, and independent initiative.
Must be a Self-Starter.
Must be dependable, punctual, and flexible.
Must be a team player, proactive attitude.
Must have the ability to adapt to changing needs of the City as necessary.
