The University of North Florida in Jacksonville, invites applications for Head of Special Collections and University Archives. The Thomas G. Carpenter Library is the vibrant academic hub for the university's 16,300 students. The recently renovated Library is located at the center of the campus surrounded by beautiful grounds, a nature preserve, and an active community of student and faculty scholars. The Head of Special Collections and University Archives oversees and administers the development and management of the library's special collections and university archives holdings and services. Under the general supervision of the Dean of Library or Dean's designee, the Head of Special Collections and University Archives is responsible for all functions, operations, and policies of the department and is committed to integrating into the broader institutional environment. The librarian supports the Dean, Director of Development and Community Engagement Coordinator in donor relations and community engagement. The Head of Special Collections and University Archives works collaboratively within the library, the university, and the larger community. This collaboration includes working closely with the library's Public Services and Technical Services Departments. ALA-accredited Masters of Library Science degree, plus at least 5 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of special collections and archival best practices. Salary at the Associate Librarian rank is $55,000 - negotiable.
