Serves as morning service desk staff and opens the library M-F during session. Performs circulation duties including check-out, renewing, and discharging materials using the library operating system and other appropriate software. Provides support to Public Services Department by participating in surveys and assessments, database search and entry, clerical organization and other support as needed. Serves as Course Reserves and Library Textbook Collection Coordinator. Assists in training and supervision of student workers. Some weekend and evening hours may be required.
Verifies Copyright compliance status of materials presented to Access Services staff for placement on Reserve. Processes Reserve materials submitted by instructors, entering or removing item data from the library circulation software.
Provides Public Services Department with support by copying, clerical organization, data entry, and other computer services and support as needed. Searches for and retrieves bibliographic data from various library databases as requested by Reference staff.
Responsible for coordinating Course Reserves Management, particularly working with librarians and faculty on the Library Affordable Textbook Initiative. Each semester, maintains databases and statistics of current reserve, professors, courses, and titles.
Performs circulation duties of checking out, renewing, and discharging library materials (including laptops and other electronic devices) using ALEPH, the library management system software. Responds to telephone and in-person inquiries regarding library programs and services. Routes library materials requiring special treatment to the appropriate destinations. Assist in training and supervising 1-2 student workers for Circulation Desk support. Opens the library according to established procedures M-Th when classes are in session. Assists patrons with basic service questions in the librarians' absence.
Assists professional staff in conducting library assessments and patron surveys as needed. Enters data in software.
Participates in shelf reading and shifting projects. Represents the department, personnel division, or University on occasional and recurring committees as requested. Performs other duties as required.
