Develops and maintains quality control mechanisms and procedures that assure effective educational and outreach liaison policies and activities with all departments and organizations that interact with the LRC.
Establishes and implements procedures and processes to maintain effective library instruction to enhance LRC services, including orientations, library instruction components in other NWF State classes, and web-based library skills development.
Trains personnel assigned to Educational Services and the reference desk, and develops LRC staff training programs in appropriate areas.
Provides reference services and participates in the preparation of research guides and other study guides as part of the LRC team.
Participates in LRC website content quality control efforts and works with other college departments to complete the necessary design and maintenance activities.
Implements collection development policies by recommending resources to be purchased, discarded, and/or licensed with particular attention to editions or formats of works in particular liaison areas.
Prepares and submits regular reports reflecting Educational Services program effectiveness, special needs and other related information to the LRC Director.
Opens or closes and secures the LRC, as scheduled.
Establishes and maintains up-to-date resources and manuals pertaining to Educational Services procedures and statistics.
Works in public service areas, as a library liaison to academic departments, and on college committees as needed.
Cooperates as a team member with the LRC staff in performing any duty essential to efficient operation and responsive public services.
Master's Degree in Library Science or a similar field required. Degree from a school that has A.L.A. accreditation preferred.
Minimum of 2 years professional library experience in a higher education setting that includes bibliographic instruction required.
Experience with bibliographic instruction in a community college preferred.
Professional library experience in a community and patron centered environment with at least 1 year of experience working in a community college environment especially in reference services preferred.
Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication.
All degrees must be from a regionally-accredited postsecondary institution.
