The Medical Library at Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University (FIU) located in Miami invites applications for an open rank, full time, non-tenure track faculty position of Information and Instruction Services Librarian. This position is responsible for designing and providing library instruction programs within and outside of the curriculum; explores and adapts new learning and communication modes; collaborate with faculty to maximize the integration of library instruction into the curriculum of the Medical College programs; provides research and instruction services, including curriculum development in research literacy skills and technology planning that ensures excellence in research and knowledge navigation; contributes to the overall development and innovation of the library by actively participating in library, health sciences, and university committees, workgroups and task forces; maintains current knowledge of the trends and issues in health sciences research, scholarly communication, systematic reviews, data management, and higher education. This position reports to the Medical Library Director and supervises Clinical Engagement Librarian.
Minimum qualifications include a Master's Degree in Library/Information Science from an ALA Accredited Program and a minimum of three (3) years professional experience in an Academic, Health Sciences or Clinical/Hospital Library and excellent presentation and instructional skills.
Preferred qualifications include experience with systematic reviews and data management; experience with grant writing; proficiency in evaluating levels of EBM, including the analysis of supporting medical research articles; experience and proficiency with using current and emerging technologies; ability to work both independently and collaboratively with faculty, students, and team members.
