Brockway Memorial Library's Youth Services Department provides for the educational, recreational, and informational needs of the youth of the Miami Shores Community.

This outgoing, energetic and industrious candidate will develop and implement fun, innovative and dynamic literacy-based programs and services for the Library’s young patrons, ages 0-18. Examples of programs include storytimes, puppet shows, special events, S.T.E.M, and the annual Summer Reading Program. The Youth Services Librarian will work with local schools and organizations to bolster the Library’s outreach efforts and will work under supervision of the Library Director to market and promote programs and services.
In collaboration with the Library Director, the Youth Services Librarian will select, order and maintain new and existing materials in the Youth Collection, such as books, magazines and audiobooks. A knowledge of children’s and young adult literature is a must, as well as a familiarity with current literacy trends. Candidate should have basic technology skills and be able to provide quality reference assistance to patrons of all ages.
Candidate must be approachable, positive and friendly and possess excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
