The John C. Pace Library seeks an Instructor Faculty Librarian (position #109130) to provide reference assistance, teach library instruction/information literacy sessions, and serve as a subject specialist/faculty liaison to many of the sciences departments. This person will also coordinate information literacy and library instruction as well as develop and maintain online tutorials and LibGuides to promote library resources, services, and online learning. Responsibilities also include collection development in assigned subject areas. This position works Tuesdays through Saturdays during the fall and spring academic sessions; summer session hours will vary depending upon departmental needs. Position reports to the Head of the Reference Department. This is a twelve month non-tenure track position with faculty rank and status.
Master's degree from an accredited institution in library science and appropriate experience as a professional librarian consistent with university guidelines.
- an ALA accredited MLS or MLIS;
- experience with newer, emerging technologies; and,
- ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- experience in reference;
- experience teaching library instruction classes;
- recent professional academic experience, and excellent patron service, communication, writing, and organizational skills; and,
- background in science.
