What is 'Florida Library Jobs'?

Florida Library Jobs is a listing of job openings for library and information science related positions in Florida. Job seekers may create an account to receive alerts for new job postings. In addition, individuals with an ALA-accredited Master’s degree may post a resume, which are only viewable by employers who have registered and been approved through Florida Library Jobs. What happened to the ‘Jobs in Florida Libraries’ site?

Jobs in Florida Libraries was a separate site for job openings that did not require an ALA-accredited degree. Many users were unaware of this separate site and others found the segmentation confusing. As a result, Jobs in Florida Libraries was retired and all job postings are now combined on one site. Sortable columns allow users to separate job postings that require an ALA-accredited degree from those that do not require the degree. Users may also filter positions based on degree requirement by using Advanced Search.

Will my resume and other identifying information be seen by others using this site?

Resumes submitted to Florida Library Jobs will be available for viewing by individuals with employer-access to the site and by anyone to whom the employer chooses to forward that information. Florida Library Jobs does not sell, lend, or transfer user information to third parties.

Why must I update my username with an email address?

The new Florida Library Jobs site was structured to require an email address for username to comply with internal identity management system protocols. As a result all users are required to enter a valid email address for username.
